Aaron Ramsdale says there’s no “bad blood” with ARSENAL after switching to Southampton at the end of the summer transfer window after months of transfer speculation about whether or not he would leave the Gunners.

Going into the summer window Ramsdale knew that he was no longer wanted at ARSENAL – he was not longer needed and was just waiting for the right club to make the right offer in order to get a deal done.

But he had to wait until deadline day to get the move that he desired as Southampton came calling with an opportunity that he could not turn down and he quickly made the decision to leave the Gunners for the Saints.

The England keeper lost his first-choice Gunners’ spot when David Raya arrived at the start of last season. The Spaniard made his move from Brentford permanent over the summer, while the newly-promoted Saints paid around £18million for Ramsdale last month.

Asked if he felt resentment, Ramsdale told talkSPORT: “No, I’ve been around football long enough that the manager’s decision is the manager’s decision.

“I tried my best to change his mind and force my way back in. His mind was set and at the same time David had a great season.

“You can have all the upset or qualms about being taken out but when someone else is delivering, you’ve just got to take it on the chin.

“It was tough but I’ve found a new home and I’m looking forward to playing again. You move on, there’s no bad blood and you’ve got to restart your career again.”

Ramsdale is a top stopper that will perform brilliantly for the Saints – it is a very good move for the star to make and one that he will enjoy – ARSENAL fans will wish him all the best for his services, he done nothing wrong for the club during his stay.

But he just was not the type of stopper that Arteta wanted in his side – it is as simple as that.
